Privacy

Data controller

www.thequietmill.it is the official website of The Quiet Mill, an apartment of the Civis Hotels group at Via 24 Maggio 3, 72013 Ceglie Messapica (BR), Italy. Controller: Pietro d'Ippolito, Via Sapri 2, 88046 Lamezia Terme (CZ), P.IVA 03748390790. Privacy contact: thequietmill@civishotels.com.

Browsing

The website is made of static pages. The hosting provider (Vercel), like any web server, logs technical request data (IP address, browser, page, date and time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Page addresses contain no personal data.

Hosting and transfers

The hosting provider, acting as processor, is Vercel Inc., based in the United States: the request logs described above may therefore be processed outside the European Union. The transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR), included in the data processing agreement with Vercel. The logs stay with Vercel for the period set by its policy: we do not export them or copy them to other systems. A copy of the safeguards is available on request at thequietmill@civishotels.com.

Booking request

The form sends nothing to the website: it composes an email with your dates and number of guests and opens it in your own email program. The message only reaches us if you send it. We process the data we receive (name, contact details, content) to reply and manage your stay, on the basis of pre-contractual steps or the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Messages are kept as long as the request requires; booking data for 10 years, for accounting and tax obligations.

Cookies and local storage

The website uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools. It saves only two preferences in your browser (localStorage), and only after a click: the light or dark theme (tqm-theme) and the language chosen in the switcher (tqm-lang). They are strictly necessary for the service you request (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code), identify no one, are never sent to the website and stay until you clear the site data in your browser. Without a choice, the theme follows your device setting and the language follows the page. The booking bar keeps the chosen dates and number of guests in the open tab (sessionStorage, civis-bookbar), so they stay the same from page to page: they identify no one, are never sent to the website and are deleted when the tab is closed.

Third-party sites

Google Maps (the Directions link) and the websites of the other Civis properties open only when clicked and apply their own privacy notices.
